Our History

A Meaningful Goal Housing Shelter (AMGHS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Pasadena Cas. Since 2012, AMGHS has provided shelter, vocational training, mental health support, and educational services to help unhoused individuals achieve independence and dignity.

Founded by Dr. Shady R. Mallory—a visionary leader with over 25 years of experience—AMGHS began as a small housing support organization and has grown into a recognized South LA service provider. Mallory led AMGHS through the COVID-19 pandemic, and now through the Altadena Eaton Wildfire to ensure uninterrupted delivery of care, hygiene services, and transitional housing.
